About Us

We are a family of four who decided to opt for a more peaceful, country life and moved up from Auckland to Matakana in 2007. Mark hails from Norfolk, England and myself from Auckland. Both of the boys, Anton and Oliver, were also born in New Zealand. Although educators by profession, both of us also have experience in food and hospitality. Mark has been a chef lecturer at the Auckland University of Technology for the past 11 years. The cottage is my current project.

We have travelled extensively over the years and feel it is time now to bring some of our own travel accommodation experiences together by offering Bella Vista Vineyard Cottage to others. We have taken the things that have appealed to us about the places we have stayed while holidaying and travelling abroad, and attempted to blend them together into our own self-catering accommodation for the enjoyment of others.

We adore the Matakana Coast area and have the most stunning serene view from the vineyard, so it brings us great pleasure in seeing others enjoy the same incredible beauty too. We will do all that is possible to make your break away a stress free and memorable stay. As your hosts, we see our role as preparing and presenting the cottage at it's absolute best and most beautiful for your arrival, and then leaving you in peace to enjoy your stay. However if you need anything we are never far away.
